|
Characteristics |
|
| The MT 186(e) or MT 188(e) is intended for evaluation, installation or trobleshooting 2/4 wire leased lines and 2 wire dial-up circuits. Universal and compact, the instrument is designed to assist field service engineers in measuring the analog impairment parameter over the telecommunication circuit with and extended frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 KHz. This is ideal for the testing operation of telephone lines, modem circuits, DDS (Digital Data System) and ISDN U loop attenuation.
The MT 186(e) & 188(e) incorporate the latest SMT technology and design standards and meet or exceed IEE743/1984, Bell pub 41009 & ITU - T O standards, providing exceptional performance and reliablity. |

MT 186(e) - the Basic Transmission Test Set |
|
| |
The MT 186(e) combines the function of three test instruments into one compact unit. Menu-driven for simple operation, the unit performs basic transmission line measurement (TIMS), digital multimeter measurement (DMM) and functions as a telephone handset with dial, talk and listen capabilities.
In the TIMS mode, the unit measures frequency, dBm level, True RMS Noise, Return Loss, Impluse Noise and much more. Noise weighting filters are available in C-message (MT 186), Psophometric (MT 186e), 3K flat, 15K flat and Notch filters. The MT 186 is available in two versions with different model names MT186e (ITU version) and MT186 (North American version) |

MT 188(e) - the Versatile Transmission Test Set |
|
| |
The MT 188(e) is equipped with full transmission impairment parameter measurement functions to give you the most comprehensive and unambiguous results of any analog date communications or telecommunication facilities. The unit features several more analytical functions than that of MT 186(e), such as, three - level impulse - noise, gain hit, phase hit, phase jitter, drop-outs and peak to average ratio (P/AR) measurement. The MT 188(e) is available in two versions with different model names individually - MT 188(e) (ITU version) and MT188 (North American version). |
